The Editor-in-Chief of The Peninsula, Dr. Khalid Al-Shafi expressed his strong support for the step taken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by summoning the Ambassador of Germany to Qatar and handing him Qatar’s complete rejection and condemnation of the remark made by the German Federal Minister.
Al Shafi said in a tweet that at the time the entire world and organizations have praised the Qatari preparation for hosting World Cup Qatar 2022, the German Federal Minister surprised the world with a statement against Qatar’s hosting of the World Cup. The statement is based on baseless sources and contained malicious allegations.
Despite the poisoned arrows directed at us, we are determined to ensure the success of the hosting and to present an honorable image of our country by making the World Cup Qatar 2022 the most important sport event in the history of the World Cup.
