Doha: Qatar has condemned the violation of the sanctity of Al Aqsa Mosque by Israeli police and settlers, deploring constant aggressive practices by Israel in Jerusalem.
In a statement yesterday, the Foreign Ministry said the settlers’ breaking into the mosque is a provocation of the feelings of millions of Muslims.
It called on Israel to end its evil and illegal actions towards the mosque, stressing that Israeli violations of the sanctity of places of worship will increase tension in the region.
Qatar also condemned the criminal bombing which targeted Sitra near the Bahraini capital of Manama yesterday, killing two policemen and critically injuring another.
In a separate statement, the ministry said Qatar condemns criminal acts to subvert Bahrain’s security and stability, and reiterated solidarity with the Bahraini leadership, government and people.
It said Bahrain’s security and stability is part of GCC’s security and stability and that Qatar stands by Bahrain in all measures it takes to enhance its security and stability.
The ministry expressed Qatar’s condolences to the Bahraini government, people and the families of victims, wishing the injured a speedy recovery. QNA
