DOHA: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) will implement a temporary traffic diversion on Lijmiliya Road to allow for the demolition of the existing carriageway and the construction of a permanent dual carriageway.
The diversion will start from tomorrow (June 30) and last for six months, in coordination with the Traffic Department.
Road users travelling to and from the Lijmiliya area will be diverted to a kilometre parallel diversion route, which will provide one lane in each direction, before rejoining Lijmiliya Road, as shown on the map.
The Public Works Authority has advised that this traffic diversion is the last one planned for Lijmiliya Road which forms part of Ashghal’s Expressway Al Sheehaniya- Leatooriya-Lijmiliya project.
Ashghal will install road signs advising road users of the diversion. The authority requests all road users to abide by the speed limit which will be 50kph in the traffic diversion area, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
