Doha: Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs H E Dr Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi has opened the new premises of the government services complex in Mesaimeer.
Representatives of the complex’s service providers were present.
The Minister said the upgrade of the complex in terms of increasing its area came in implementation of the directives of Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani regarding providing comfort, facilitating procedures and upgrading services provided by ministries to citizens and residents, Qatar News Agency reports.
The Minister also toured the departments of the complex and saw services provided there by seven ministries and government entities — the Foreign Ministry; the Ministry of Economy and Commerce; the Ministry of Justice; the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs; the Ministry of Education and Higher Education; and the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, in addition to Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation.
The building comprises nearly 30 counters, some of them dedicated to serving women, the elderly and people with disabilities, to execute different procedures in two shifts — from 7.30am to 1pm and 3pm to 7pm to alleviate pressure on the rest of the branches and ministries.
Qatar is working to provide services in all its regions as near to citizens and residents as possible and at the same location to help them save time and reduce congestion.
There are eight government service complexes now, carrying out between 4,500 and 5,000 procedures a daily.
