Doha: Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) yesterday held a meeting with UN World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) to discuss Qatar’s preparations to host World Tourism Day 2017. The meeting took place in Dubai on the sidelines of the Arabian Travel Market 2016.
Saif Al Kuwari, Director, International Cooperation, QTA, said they discussed events to celebrate the day. Last September Qatar was chosen as the official host of World Tourism Day in 2017, to be held under the theme ‘Sustainable Tourism, a Tool for Development’. The meeting also discussed implementation of some of the articles of a cooperation agreement they signed in February 2014. The first and second phase of the agreement have been implemented.
