Bedaya holds Mehna Café gathering

Bedaya Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Center), a joint initiative by Qatar Development Bank and Silatech, held its second Mehna Café (career café) meet, recently. The event was held at café #999 at Doha Fire Station “Matafi”, and included a session with professional photographer Khalifa Al Obaidli.
Al Obaidly highlighted different aspects in art of photography like - how to harness technology to give a message to the viewer in a technical and artistic format, the diverse characteristics that may help a photographer in capturing the best shot such as angles, lights, lenses and others.
Al Obaidly, Director of Doha Fire Station “Matafi” offered insights into how he pursued his passion for photography along with his daily job. He spoke on how he transformed this hobby into a profession, which took him one step closer to universality. He also discussed in length different types of photography like fashion, nature and wild life, black and white, travel and adventure and aerial shots.  He offered the audience tips and technics that will help them improve their photography skills.
On the occasion, Reem Al Suwaidi, General Manager of Bedaya Center, said,” Mehna Café (career café) is one of Bedaya’s latest programmes designed to highlight all careers and professions. During each session, the center hosts a professional who talks about the different aspects of his/her profession. The programme aims to help those who are interested in a particular career and to meet a pioneer to have a closer look on their profession that would help them define their options in line with their future aspirations.”
Commenting on the event, Khalifa Al Obaidly said:” I am delighted to attend this session of Mehna Café and meet up with a bunch of interested young people who want to pursue a career in photography, which in my opinion is becoming very popular in our community. It was a unique, interesting and out of ordinary gathering. ”
