Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has launched the new interface of the Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system, which will be used by administrations of government schools and kindergartens.

The initiative aims to automate and streamline the procedures for registering and tracking maintenance and operational service requests, as well as generating related reports, thereby enhancing communication among relevant entities and improving the efficiency of services provided.

The system was launched during two meetings held at the Ministry’s headquarters in Al Laqtaifiya on January on 26 and 27, 2026, attended by more than 800 senior ministry officials, principals of government schools and kindergartens, as well as specialists and storekeepers. The first meeting was dedicated to girls’ schools, while the second was allocated to boys’ schools.

Eng Mohammed Ali Kuraib, Assistant Undersecretary for Shared Services Affairs, affirmed that the launch of the new system interface aligns with the Ministry’s digital transformation plan and efforts to develop administrative work processes and modernize support services.

He noted that this contributes to providing an integrated educational environment that supports the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030, which seeks to build an education system aligned with global standards, foster creativity and innovation, and ensure the efficient, effective, and sustainable management of educational institutions.

For his part, Eng Khalid Mohammed Al Hajri, Director of the General Services Department at the Ministry, explained that the CAFM system is a specialised electronic system for managing building facilities and serves as the digital backbone of the maintenance and operations ecosystem. It functions as a central system for managing data related to buildings, fixed assets, spare parts, contract management, work orders, and technician management, in addition to report generation and key performance indicator management.

He added that the launch of the “Concept Reach” system interface, designed to allow government school and kindergarten administrations to submit requests directly, marks the completion of the third phase of the system’s comprehensive automation process. The first phase involved the use of the system by the Facilities Management Help Desk and engineers, while the second phase included service provider teams. This gradual development approach aims to reach self-management, enhancing speed, efficiency, transparency, and innovation.

During the two meetings, Al Hajri also reviewed the structure of the General Services Department and its various sections, including buildings affairs, services, transportation, warehouses, security, as well as the core and support services provided to educational facilities.
