Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs H E Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud and Qatari delegation with President Yoweri Museveni and other officials of Uganda in Kampala yesterday.
Kampala: President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda met yesterday with Qatar's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs H E Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud who is on a visit to Kampala.
At the beginning of the meeting, Al Mahmoud conveyed the greetings of the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to the President of the Republic of Uganda and his wishes for the Ugandan people of further development.
President of the Republic of Uganda conveyed his greetings to the Emir, wishing him continued good health and happiness, and for the people of Qatar further progress and prosperity. The Ugandan President praised the positive role of Qatar under the leadership of the Emir in supporting the peace process and development in Darfur, based on the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur to achieve security and stability for its people.
The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his thanks and appreciation to the President of Uganda for his interest in bringing peace and security in Darfur. The two sides reviewed relations between Qatar and Uganda, and ways of developing them in various fields.
