Eid Charity projects benefit 159,000 in 23 countries

Doha: Sheikh Eid bin Mohammad Al Thani Charitable Association has implemented 107 healthcare projects and provided medical services in 23 countries during the first half of this year.
The projects implemented at a cost of over QR4m donated by Qatari philanthropists benefited about 159,000 patients.
The charity said healthcare and medical equipment were covered by 63 projects in 12 countries, 33 projects covered the treatment of patients in eight countries, and medical equipment were provided for 20 people in three countries.
The charity organised medical camps in poor countries in Asia and Africa, which included the treatment of patients, training for doctors to perform surgical operations. Projects were implemented in Palestine, Sudan, Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania, India, Sri Lanka and Malawi and other countries.
