Doha: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced that it will put in place a temporary diversion on part of the southbound lanes of the East Industrial Road, for a distance of 2.7 km from Street 23 (near Al Watan Petrol Station) to Street 10 (near Woqod Petrol Station).
The diversion will be implemented from tomorrow and will last until the end of September in coordination with the Traffic Police Department.
During this period, traffic on the closed section of the East Industrial Road will be diverted to the adjacent service roads, where the number of lanes will be reduced from four to two lanes of traffic, as shown in the map.
The speed limit will be reduced to 50kmph along the diversion route to ensure the safety of road users and the project’s workforce.
Ashghal will install road signs advising motorists of the diversion. The authority requests all road users to abide by the speed limits, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
Ashghal announced that it will also implement a temporary closure on Al Mamoura Underpass along E-Ring Road and part of the service road on the D-Ring Road to Khalifa Bin Abdullah Al Attiya Intersection. The closure will last for a month starting from tomorrow until August 29.
During the closure period, motorists who intend to access the facilities within the work zone are advised to enter the service road from the entrance before the closure and follow the traffic diversion signs as shown in the attached map.
Ashghal implemented this temporary closure to carry out pavement repair works along the service roads, in particular the longitudinal cracks on either side
