Doha, Qatar: Sweden’s Petra Sorling was re-elected President of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) at the Annual General Meeting in Doha yesterday.
According to the ITTF, Sorling received 104 votes, while the other candidate, Qatar’s Khalil Al Mohannadi, received 102.
The AGM was held following the nine-day ITTF World Table Tennis Championships Finals at two venues in Doha.
Prior to the President’s elections, the AGM yesterday finalised host countries of the next three ITTF World Table Tennis Championships.
Astana, Kazakhstan will host the ITTF World Table Tennis Championships Finals 2027 whereas it was decided that Fukuoka, Japan will host the ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals 2028.
Rio, Brazil will host the ITTF World Table Tennis Championships Finals 2029.
