Kuwait: UN envoy to Yemen, Ismail Ould Sheikh Ahmed has commended the efforts of Qatar, Kuwait and the United Nations, which led to the return of the Yemeni government’s delegation to the peace consultations in Kuwait.
In a press conference, Ould Sheikh Ahmed said he visited Doha on Sunday to participate in the 16th edition of Doha Forum and attended a series of meetings of concern to the Yemeni issue.
He added that the United Nations didn’t and wouldn’t disappoint the Yemenis and will continue its efforts to urge the parties involved in peace consultations in Kuwait to reach a peaceful solution to the crisis.
He called on the Yemeni parties to assume their responsibility towards the Yemeni people, saying that the country is going through a critical juncture, which requires speeding up the pace and taking constructive measures to save the situation there, particularly at the economic, humanitarian and security levels.
