Qatar stock index drops 326.76 points; market capitalization decline by QR15.62bn

DOHA: Qatar Stock Index witnessed a sharp decline of 326.76 points, or 2.67 percent, when the bourse closed at 11,902.07 points Thursday compared to 12,228.83 on Wednesday.

The market capitalization decreased by QR15.62bn to QR633.78bn compared to QR649.40bn registered Wednesday.

The traded value increased by over 200 percent to QR2.67bn with a volume of 86,915,067 shares from 12,996 transactions compared with QR841.9m with a volume of 23,699,187 shares from 7,862 transactions on Wednesday.

Insurance index gained 3.47 percent to 4,880.18 points while Real Estate index fell the most by 7.11 percent to 2,734.80 points. Telecom index dropped 5.90 percent to 1,171.54 points and Industries index fell 1.98 percent to 3,797.76 points.

QSE Total Return Index fell 2.67 percent (18,496.73 points). QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index dropped 2.64 percent (4,528.91 points) and QSE All Share Index fell 2.32 percent (3,183.78 points).

Shares of all 43 listed companies saw trading today. From these seven advanced, 32 declined and four remained unchanged.
