Paris - Europe's main stock markets closed lower on Tuesday, with Frankfurt's DAX 30 index sinking 1.89 percent to 11,811.66 points and the CAC 40 in Paris tumbling 1.81 percent to 5,173.38 points.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index ended the day down 1.03 percent at 7,030.53 points.
