DOHA: The 10th edition of Project Qatar will be held from May 6 to May 9 at Doha Exhibition Centre. This highly successful show is annual international trade, construction, building, environmental technology and materials exhibition. The event attracts key buyers and industry leaders looking for the most up-to-date technology and state-of-the art equipment available on the market.
Announcing details of the Project Qatar at a press conference in Dubai yesterday, the organisers claimed at least 100 UAE companies have set sight on Project Qatar 2013.
“All eyes are on the Qatari construction market and Project Qatar is proud to provide companies from UAE with a powerful platform that supports major transactions and growth in a key market,” said IFP Emirates General Manager Bassel Amaneddine. “With record-setting attendance of Emirati exhibitors each year, Project Qatar and IFP – together with Dubai Export and the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry - have become strong partners, empowering companies in the GCC to grow their businesses,” he said.

With a 2,100 square metre national pavilion, the largest at Project Qatar for three years running, and participation from Emirati exhibitors such as Valbruna Gulf FZE, Unique factories, Sayes, Simco, Hadelay, Gale Pacific and many others who have attended Project Qatar for several years, we celebrate the UAE’s participation and commitment to Project Qatar as we enter our 10th year,” Bassel said.
Mohammed Ali Al Kamali, the Director of Exports Markets Development in Dubai Exports Development Establishment, said: “Trade between Qatar and UAE has reached massive values over the last decade, suggesting growing complementary business relationship. The UAE participation in Project Qatar is always considered as the biggest participation, and we at Dubai Exports participate and organise the UAE pavilion on a yearly basis and it is one of the biggest exhibitions in our agenda every year. Project Qatar is offering a great business platform to UAE companies. Project Qatar provides immense business opportunities for UAE companies.”
The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry helps Sharjah and Emirati companies realise new opportunities in key markets for their top quality products, said Mohammed Al Amin, assistant director for economic and international affairs at the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
“This is the sixth time we are participating in Project Qatar,” said Mubarak Al Khaili, Emirates Steel SVP of Marketing. “We believe that this exhibition is an important event for us. It has offered us many opportunities and this time we also plan to showcase all our range of products for visitors to view”.
“Malaysian companies have been actively involved in various development projects in the country,” said Mohammad Mustafa Abdul Aziz, Senior Trade Commissioner of Matrade, the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation. “The participation of Malaysian companies at this event is aimed to further forge more partnerships and joint ventures with local Qatari authorities and project owners to undertake projects in Qatar.”
