DOHA: Sheikh Thani Bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) is funding small businesses for needy families displaced in five Syrian cities — Aleppo, Homs, Daraa, Hama and Idlib.
The project aims to generate income for beneficiary families for their livelihood and make them self-dependent.
It is being implemented in cooperation with local partner Al Sham Humanitarian Foundation to provide business opportunities for tens of families displaced in Syria. A survey was conducted to select the most deserving families. Contracts were signed with beneficiary families after they got approval to begin their businesses.
As per the contracts, they are being provided with consultancy services and other support.
The businesses being financed by RAF include poultry, animal breading and dairy farms, workshops for metalwork, garages, carpentry, tailoring shops, shoe-making, stationery and electric shops.
The families will own their businesses completely.
