Al Rayyan hammer Al Sadd in opening clash of final series

Action from the Qatar Basketball League match between Al Rayyan and Al Sadd at Al Gharafa Indoor Stadium in Doha yesterday.


DOHA:  Al Rayyan opened the Qatar Basketball league (QBL) series with a 78-48 hammering of Al Sadd at Al Gharafa Indoor Hall. 
Ngombo Tanguy Alban and Davon James Dominic scored 21 points each as Al Rayyan decimated their opponents with ease. 
Alban had 3 assists while Dominic managed 5 assists to complete Al Rayyan’s dominant performance. 
Hill Lawrence scored 16 points and managed 4 assists as Al Rayyan retaine lead in all four quarters of the one-sided game. 
Abdulla Malek Salem scored 6 points for Al Rayyan coached by Koufos Stergios. 
For Al Sadd, Kone Mohamed Deba and Raffa Anthony emerged as the two only two players with double figures. Deba scored 20 points while Anthony managed 13 points. 
Anthony also had 3 assists for Al Sadd coached by Zoran Kreckovic. 
Abdi Khalid Suliman scored 7 points while Fouda Moustafa managed a tally of 6 in Al Sadd’s losing cause. 
Earlier in the day, Dragoslav Milovanovic-coached El Jaish crushed Al Gharafa 83-66 to claim the third spot in QBL in the 2015-16 season. 
Doudou Elhajd (18), Mohmmed Mohd Yousuf (15), Ali Ali Turki (14), Abilmona Fadi Hani (11) and Macklin Vernon Leon (10) were the five El Jaish players to reach the double figures. 
For Al Gharafa, coached by Koussay Hatem, Galloway Kevin Dwayne was the long ranger to attack El Jaish with 25 points. 
The second game of the final between Al Rayyan and Al Sadd will be played on March 1 with the game starting at 7:00pm.
