Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met Tuesday with his Nigerian counterpart Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is visiting Ankara.
During a joint press conference with his Nigerian counterpart, the Turkish President affirmed the two countries' commitment to increasing trade volume to $5 billion.
Erdoğan added, "We stand with the Nigerian people in their fight against terrorism, and during our meeting, we discussed ways to enhance close cooperation in the fields of military training and intelligence."
For his part, the Nigerian President emphasized that his country and Turkiye are ready to work together and build prosperity together.
He noted that he discussed with his Turkish counterpart issues of mutual interest, primarily trade, the avoidance of double taxation, and removing obstacles to trade.
The two presidents also witnessed the signing of nine agreements and memoranda of understanding for cooperation in several fields.
