Principal of Birla Public School (BPS), A P Sharma hoisted the Indian national flag at main campus to mark 72nd Republic Day of India on January 26.
The event was attended by all the members of the senior leadership team and school staff. It was later followed by a virtual celebration. In his bilingual address to the virtual audience, the Principal reiterated, “India is the biggest country where diversities of all kinds exist, yet like a garland wreathed with various sweet scented flowers, we are one. India is indeed great, spreading health and helping the whole world by donating free vaccines to all during this pandemic”.
Dr. Mohan Thomas, Director of PBS was welcomed and applauded by the Principal for achieving the highest award for Non-Resident Indians from the President of India, H E Ram Nath Kovind. A P Sharma reminded all that on the occasion of the Pravasi Bharathiya Divas, Dr. Mohan Thomas was recognised for his outstanding contributions and exceptional achievements in the fields of Medicine and Philanthropy and honoured with the Pravasi Bharathiya Samman Award.
Chairman of BPS, Gope Shahani, addressed the virtual gathering of BPS fraternity on the occasion of 72nd Republic Day celebrations. “Today, as we walk out of the pandemic, I look back upon the labour we put in and I realise that it’s no less than what our ancestors did while creating the Constitution of our nation. We have learnt from them and faced the challenges to bring in new light and vision. We have a long way to go but I am sure we will do it. We will discover new standards and set the bar high like the glorious leaders of India,” said Shahani.
