HBKU Student Affairs provides lifelong opportunities for interested learners across Doha.
Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) has opened registration for five community courses, as part of its ongoing outreach initiative to encourage lifelong learning and continuous personal development among the wider community.
From February 18 to 23, the Leadership: Through Self-Discovery course will help participants to uncover their personal strengths and weaknesses to enable career success.
Attendees will learn how to develop leadership skills based on their unique personality traits, in order to play a more active role in their working environment.
Maryam Al Mannai, Vice President for Student affairs at HBKU, said, “HBKU is committed to instilling in our students and the wider community a mindset of continuous growth, and facilitating an environment of lifelong learning and self-development.
“Our ongoing community classes cover a vast range of topics, and are a great way for students and working professionals to learn new skills or expand their repertoire.”
The Global leadership and Management Trends course, which runs from February 24 to 27, is designed for those in management roles who are responsible for assisting their organisations to achieve sustainable success.
The four-session course will chart the practical and positive journey towards long-term progress, and provide clear guidance on how participants can lead and manage their organisations on upward trajectories. The Introduction to Project Management course to be held from March 3 to 5, aims to provide an overview of project management and the essential tools needed to deliver successful projects in a timely manner and within budget.
Participants will learn the fundamental principles of the subject, including project initiation, project definition, creation of work breakdown structures, scheduling using Gantt charts and network diagrams, risk management, budgeting and controlling resources, quality assurance, auditing and project termination.
Those looking to communicate more effectively can enroll for the Communications Skills in Teamwork course, to be held from March 9 to 11. The course will develop participants’ ability to focus on outcomes, tune into their audience, and develop and deliver a clear and concise message.
Meanwhile, the Positive Thinking course, to be held from 18 to 20 March, will equip participants with the skills required to challenge negative thought patterns and adopt a more positive mindset.
