DOHA: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) yesterday said a traffic diversion will be in place on Gharrafat Al Rayyan Street between Gharrafat Al Rayyan Roundabout and Qatar Foundation (Civil Defence) from tomorrow. Traffic will be diverted to a new road adjacent to the existing one that will be closed. The 1,150-metre diversion will be in place until the fourth quarter of 2017. The closure is necessary to allow construction of the proposed Dukhan Highway East project.
The project encompasses about 11km of new dual carriageway with four lanes in each direction, upgrade of service roads and construction of pedestrian tunnels.
