Riyadh: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has strongly denounced the drone attacks launched by Iran-affiliated militias in Iraq.

In a statement, the Saudi Foreign Minister stressed the Kingdom's determination to safeguard its security and sovereignty and deter aggressors.

It confirmed its right to respond to the sources of aggression, emphasizing that the Iraqi government should take further action to ensure that its territory isn't used as a base for aggression.

Saudi Defense Ministry spokesperson Maj. Gen. Turki Al Maliki said earlier that several one-way attack drones had been intercepted and vaporized over the past hours, noting that they had attempted to target petroleum facilities in the Eastern Province and the Riyadh region.

According to a statement by the Saudi Ministry of Defense, Maj. Gen. Al Maliki said these terrorist attempts were launched from Iraqi territory and carried out by terrorist militias affiliated with Iran.
