Qatar: To mark the International School of London’s (ISL) fifth year of support for Qatar Charity’s ‘Sponsor a Child’ initiatives for orphans and children in need, the school welcomed Mr Yaser Shareef Al Saleh to the school.
Mr Christopher Charleson, Head of School, presented Mr. Al Saleh with a cheque for QR17,500 which will cover the annual sponsorship of seven orphans. Students from all grade levels were involved in fund-raising projects since last September which included the sales of a school calendar, flea markets, bake sales and a wide selection of games and activities at school family days.
Community service and charitable activities are an important element of education as students are given the opportunity to reflect on their ethical and global impact.
