Tokyo--Tokyo's benchmark index ended Monday morning flat, despite another record-setting close on Wall Street, as a stronger yen weighed with Japanese earnings season kicking into high gear.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange, which opened 0.22 percent higher, was down 1.74 points at 20,018.30 by the break.
The broader Topix index of all first-section shares edged up 1.20 points to 1,620.04.
