Doha: Keeping Qatar’s ‘Green Initiative’ and ‘Plant Million Tree’ initiative in view, Pakistan International School Qatar (PISQ) took up ‘green school’ initiative by beautifying its premises through a massive plantation scheme.

Numerous plants and flowers have been planted in various places inside the school building, creating an eye-opening sight with a lush green panoramic view accentuated with vibrant flowers growing all around.

The school administration’s attempt to beautify the institution is one of its kind and has produced commendable results: one has to just look at the place to see how refreshing and invigorating the view is what could be more attractive than entering an educational institution which has broken free of the traditional stoic buildings and has laid down the foundation of nurturing a safe and refreshing environment for its students.

What is more, the lush green environment nurtures in the students a sense of preservation of the environment and the importance of planting trees. It compels them to think about a world bereft of greenery and freshness, bringing into focus the various factors which affect the environment and their dire consequences, pollution being the major aspect among them.

It is a laudable step of the institute’s management to remind the students of their duty as global citizens, and the responsibility to shoulder the burden of keeping the world safe by sharing this global obligation of maintaining a clean and green environment, and doing their part honestly and with dedication.

This, in turn, will build a generation which possesses a vision to create and preserve a safe and sustainable environment for the benefit of both the current and the future generations.

Principal PISQ, Nargis Raza Otho, expressed satisfaction over becoming a part of Qatar’s grand ‘Plant Million Tree’ initiative. She urged all citizens to play their due role and work towards the betterment of the country and the world at large.

“We are proud of citizens of the State of Qatar and it falls upon us to play our part in building the country to be the best among all nations of the world,” said Otho.

For the last many years, climate change has become a harsh reality for numerous countries around the globe. Environment patterns have seen a rapid shift and disastrous climatic occurrences have shaken the world.

The dire situation calls for a quick response and far-sighted approach to combat this cataclysm and maintain sustained growth and development, with the view that a sustainable environment ensures a sustainable economy for a country, considering the various links the two share.

The climate of a country directly affects the day-to-day life which, in turn, leaves a direct impact on the country’s developmental endeavours. Keeping this in view, Qatar launched its ‘Plant Million Tree’ initiative in 2019 with an aim to support the global activities for environmental protection and sustainability.
