Ghazal maestro Pankaj Udhas to perform in Doha

Argon Global, in association with Burzan Network, has announced the third edition of AG Inspire Golden Series, ‘An Evening with Pankaj Udhas’. AG Inspire Golden Series was envisioned and conceptualised to provide a platform for prominent performing artists across the globe. Abdul Gafoor, CEO of Argon Global, said the concert would be a unique opportunity for music lovers in Doha to hear ghazal maestro Pankaj Udhas at the Qatar National Convention Center.

 Udhas has played a key role in bringing the ghazal to the realm of popular music. Udhas rose to fame with his hit Chitthi Aayee Hai for the film Naam in 1986. In 2006, he was honoured with the award Padma Shri by the Government of India.

He is one of the most successful contemporary Bollywood playback singers and his ghazal albums have been well received in the Indian sub-continent. 

His first ghazal album, Aahat, was released in 1980. He has released more than 50 albums and hundreds of compilation albums. In 1990, he sang the melodious duet Mahiya Teri Kasam with Lata Mangeshkar, for the movie Ghayal. This song achieved immense popularity.
