Bright Future Pakistani International School (BFPIS) recently celebrated its Sports Day at Mesaimeer Sports Club. It was the first time the annual event was held outside the school campus.
The sports festival started with recitation of verses from the Quran, followed by a march past.
Chief Guest Saleha Masuad Al Naemi from Qatar Women Sports Committee formally declared Sports Day 2013 open.
After the athletes took an oath of sportsmanship, the crowd cheered a colourful presentation by students from grades four to six, who did a mass demo exercise with multi-coloured ribbons tied on both wrists.
The participants in various competitions were cheered and applauded by the crowd.
Gold, silver and bronze trophies and certificates were awarded to athletes finishing in the top three places.
Principal Mussarat Irfan, in an address, hoped that the event would prepare the students for bigger competitions in future. She expressed appreciation of Sports Coordinators Naseem, Usman, Zohra, Vice Principals Ali Zulqarnain, Waheed Imran and Sumera Rehman and the entire BFPIS family for the success of the Sports Day.
