The 71st Republic Day of India was marked with gaiety and grandeur at DPS-Modern Indian School yesterday. The patriotic fervour warmed up the cold windy morning. President of DPS-MIS, Hassan Chougule unfurled the Tricolor of India and the entire DPS-MIS fraternity, glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity, joined in the rendition of the National Anthem. Keeping the spirit of patriotism alive, the enthusiastic tiny tots of Nursery venerated their nation with a patriotic song.
The auditorium reverberated with applause and cheers as the young choristers paid musical tribute to all the brave hearts who worked tirelessly to give India its sovereign, socialist and democratic republic status.
President DPS-MIS, Hassan Chougule outlined the significance of the day and discussed the contribution of the Indian diaspora towards the development of India and the world. He urged the students to dedicate themselves in building a stronger and better India, an India of their dreams.
Principal of DPS-MI, Asna Nafees shared her views on the multifarious growth of India in all the fields and advised the students to reconnect to the past, develop the qualities of tolerance, sensitivity and respect for all cultures. She encouraged the parents to educate their children to join the bureaucracy and the armed forces and contribute significantly for the development of the world.
The programme was anchored by Head Girl Junior School, Ziya Rasik and Head Boy Junior School, Aaryan Sujith. President Student Council Junior School, Imaad Hussain proposed the vote of thanks.
