Indian Schools celebrate Republic Day with gaiety

Indian schools in qatar observed the 70th republic day with spirit of pride, exuberance and enthusiasm. Here is a list of the celebrations:

MES Indian School:

MES Indian School commemorated the 70th Republic Day of India at the school grass field on Saturday, 26th January 2019 with traditional gaiety and fervour.

A spectacular display of students’ parade showcasing India’s unity in diversity, entitled ‘India through Kaleidoscope’, stole the show as students waving Indian tri-colour and representing various states of India to highlight the unique blend of rich cultural diversity of its people, which culminated into the formation of a map of India earmarked in about 12000 sq. Ft. with about 3000 students featuring in it on the school grass field.  

A kaleidoscope of vibrant colours depicting the various states of India marched into the ground in colourful costumes with the dance and art forms of all the states of our country depicting the unity in diversity of India.

The roller skaters and cyclists along with champions of national hockey team of the school followed the pageantry gracefully amidst the splendid patriotic songs rendered by the school choir to highlight the importance of the day.

 

DPS-Modern Indian School:

The 70th Republic Day was celebrated in all its solemnity at DPS-Modern Indian School yesterday. An air of patriotism pervaded the atmosphere as the Chief Guest Rocky Fernandes, unfurled the Indian tricolor and the entire DPS-MIS fraternity with the spirit of pride, exuberance and patriotism, sang the National Anthem.

DPS-MIS students enlightened the gathering on the sanctity of the occasion and the core values of Indian democracy. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Rocky Fernandes, Director, DPS-MIS encouraged everyone to take an active role in nation-building. He urged the students to uphold and cherish the traditional values and culture of their country, India.

Principal, Asna Nafees in her speech, reiterated the importance of inclusion. She said that just as how our nation demonstrates inclusion and tolerance towards people of all religions, castes and creed, DPS-Modern Indian School also ensures that it includes students of all nationalities, cultural values, ethnicities and abilities in its fold.

An air of patriotic fervour permeated the atmosphere as the students presented a fusion of poem recitation and dance, glorifying their motherland, India. The colourful and patriotic presentations by the young choristers of the school evoked the feeling of allegiance and commitment in the hearts of all.

 

Birla Public School:

Birla Public School ((BPS)-Doha celebrated 70th Republic Day of India yesterday. The celebration began with hoisting flag of India in the main campus of the school by Chairman Lukose K Chacko in the presence  of all the management members, school authorities, academic and non-academic staff, parents and students.

The Chairman Lukose K Chacko, Vice-Chairman Gope Shahani, Directors C V Rappai and Maria Thomas, Life Member, Nilanghsu Dey, Member of Board,  Nevil Lukose, Principal A P Sharma, Vice-Principal Shirly Rappai, Vice Principals, Headmistresses and parents led the celebrations.

Rushali Nair, grade VIII ably guided the assembly through the patriotic program. The vibrant and colorful parade, which followed the rendition of National Anthem, infused the assembly with nationalistic fervour.

Lukose K Chacko, Chairman, received the grand salute as the young Birlites led by the School band, the scouts, guides, cubs, bulbuls and the student council members filed past the main podium.

Addressing the gathering the Chairman declared that Indian expatriates have more the reason to celebrate as the freedom given to us by the benevolent country of Qatar and its patriotic citizens, only encourages us to be a true citizen of the world.

He further added that, the school choir lifted high the spirits of the gathered and filled hearts with love for the nation by presenting a patriotic song. This was followed by a couple of scintillating dance performances Lazium, and another artistic expression of patriotism by the multi-talented students.

 

Ideal Indian School:

70th Republic Day of India was celebrated at Ideal Indian School this morning with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm.

Principal Syed Shoukath Ali hoisted the national flag in the school premises amidst chanting of the national anthem by the School Choir. Heads of the Sections, Staff Scouts and Guides, School Band, parents and students joined the celebrations.

In his Republic day message Principal Syed Shoukath Ali called upon the students to contribute their bit to strengthen our country and to build a corruption free India . He encouraged the young generation to be united to wipe out the evil practices existing in the present society.  

He spoke in length about the importance of education  for the development of our country. The debut performance of the school marching band enthralled the audience.

Students in their speeches reiterated their bond with their motherland and called upon the youth to live up to the traditions of their country and work for her betterment. Shifa Moideen of class XI spoke in English while Hesham Ahsan  of  XI presented his thoughts in Hindi.

The school choir entertained the gathering with a song arousing patriotic feelings. Boy Scouts and Girl Guides were honoured with certificates and medals for their valuable services rendered on various occasions.

 

Noble International School:

The members of the management, staff and students assembled at Noble International School to celebrate the 70th Republic Day of India yesterday. Chairman,  Hussain Mohammed U. presided over and delivered Republic day message. General Secretary, Basheer K P hoisted the tri-colour flag of India and felicitated the gathering.

Principal Shibu Abdul Rasheed welcomed the assembly and expressed his sincere thoughts and dedication. Treasurer Shoukath Ali Taj, Directors Moideen R S, Muneer and Ahmed Ansari and other dignitaries of the management graced the occasion with their presence.

As much as celebrations can go, the students and teachers alike showed their love for their motherland through a variety of selected dances, choir and drama.

The school was edified to its best by displaying the tri-colour everywhere. With pride and honour, Vice Principal Robin K Jose conveyed words of gratitude to the audience for showing their love for the nation through their unity in togetherness.

 

Doha Modern Indian School:

Doha Modern Indian School celebrated yesterday the 70th Republic Day of India in all its solemnity, sanctity and grandeur.

The celebration started with a warm welcome extended to the guests by School Head Girl, Christa Thomas. School Principal, Panchali Dasgupta Sahu, hoisted the National flag with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm.

Among the dignitaries to grace the auspicious occasion were Sabu Thomas, Academic Auditor of Taleb Schools; Jacob Mathew, Principal of Activities Taleb Group of Schools and Padmini Venkatesh, Principal of CIS.

To mark the celebration, a team of DMIS students performed a series of spectacular cultural programmes like patriotic songs, choir, dances etc. which genuinely roused much patriotic feelings and memories in the minds of the entire assembly of guests, parents, teachers and students.

 

Shantiniketan Indian School:

The 70th Republic Day of India was celebrated yesterday with great enthusiasm and patriotism at the campus of Shantiniketan Indian School. A short cultural program depicting the diverse Najeeb, Sharfraz Ismail and Shahanas Noorudheen were also present on the auspicious occasion to witness the cultural extravaganza presented by the school students.

Patriotic Songs, fusion dance, classical dance, semi-classical dance, a musical tribute consisting of a thematic dance and a presentation on Ahimsa was performed by students which enthralled the gathering of parents, students, teachers and other community members. Teachers also presented patriotic songs that filled the air with nationalism and patriotism.

 

North Star International School, Al Khor:

The students of North Star International School at Al Khor, Qatar at a program held yesterday at the premises of the school to celebrate the 70th Republic Day of India.
