Total E&P Qatar recently showcased its comprehensive understanding and expertise in the Oil and Gas industry through its participation and sponsorship of the Offshore Middle East Conference and Exhibition, which took place in Qatar National Convention Centre, from January 21 to 23.
Managers and experts of the French energy major participated in the conference sessions, workshops, exhibition and panel sessions. Stephane Michel, managing director of Total E&P Qatar, gave his keynote speech at the opening ceremony.
Keith Muir, an expert in Asset Integrity at Group level, came from France to make a presentation on integrity management, summarising areas that require special focus. He also commented on how to be more proactive in hazard identification and prevention. His contribution won the ‘Best Presentation Award’, presented by Mubarak A Al Hajri, Chairman of the Advisory Board of Offshore Middle East, and operations manager, offshore fields, Qatar Petroleum, at the closing ceremony of the conference and exhibition.
“I would like to thank the organising team of this event for giving Total the opportunity to chair the ‘Well Construction and Drilling Operations’ session. A lot of productive and innovative thoughts were exchanged, and it has imparted us with many stimulating ideas to combat the challenges we face in our offshore operations,” Pierre Leschi, Vice-President, Al Khalij Asset, said. “With the extension of Total’s Al Khalij Licence by Qatar Petroleum, Total is building on new methods for enhancing our recovery rate”.
