Doha: DPS-MIS celebrated the KalaiSaaral-2020, a tribute to the heritage, culture, and tradition of Tamil Nadu. The program was attended by the Chief Guest, Gopi Varadhan, Director DPS-MIS, Principal Asna Nafees, Vice Principals, Headmistress, and other key functionaries.
Principal Nafees encouraged the students to learn different languages better to understand the rich culture and traditions worldwide and become progressive citizens of tomorrow. She also mentioned that the thought of celebration of languages has coincided with National Education Policy, which emphasizes the inclusion of regional languages in the mainstream curriculum from school to college.
The Chief Guest, Gopi Varadhan, Director DPS-MIS, appreciated the efforts of the Tamil Department headed by Elavarkuzhali Narendran, in conducting such a meaningful program and urged the students to passionately learn the language and preserve the distinctiveness and culture of the state.
The virtual program titled ‘KalaiSaaral 2020’was a display of diverse talents with verve and grace. The enthralling classical dance, euphonic music, and fascinating poem recitation added magnificence and magic to the celebration.
Results of a few competitions conducted before the celebration were also announced.
