Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) has built an orphanage for girls at a cost of QR200,000 on Mindanao Island of Philippines.
The project “Maha Orphanage for Girls” was financed by a Qatari woman. More than 50 orphan girls who lost their families will benefit from the project.
The beneficiary children will get food, accommodation, education, clothes and other necessary things. They will also receive psychological support. Special programmes will be organised for their entertainment.
The orphanage was built on an area measuring 750 square metres in collaboration with Al Balagh Foundation for Charity Works and Development, local partner of RAF in Philippines. The facility comprises four bedrooms, a dining hall, a kitchen, administrative building and a separate place for prayers.
Ten employees including teachers and those responsible for caring for the orphans are being hired to run the facility. The orphanage will provide complete services to the beneficiary children.
RAF focused on hiring qualified staff so they could provide better social care to the children in a bid to make them feel at home. Over 50 orphan children from poor families of Madia village of Mindanao Island of Philippines have been selected to provide them with complete social care in the orphanage. They will be rehabilitated to merge them with the community. They will be provided with necessary education and training to build up their self-confidence.
RAF has prepared an educational programme based on Islamic values and culture for these girls so they could serve their community after they grew up. Al Balagh foundation will operate the facility. RAF gives special care to orphanage projects. The beneficiaries are being provided all necessary financial and moral support with a complete package to make their lives easier.
