Hong Kong: Hong Kong shares ended lower at the Thursday morning break, following a retreat on Wall Street as investors fret over the fate of US President Donald Trump's much-touted tax reform plans.

The Hang Seng Index edged down 0.16 percent, or 45.72 points to 28,257.17.
