Doha, Qatar: The Civil Service and Government Development Bureau (CSGDB) has launched ‘Eskan’ portal to speed up housing services for government employees as part of its digital transformation efforts. The portal (ghs.cgb.gov.qa) will save time and effort of beneficiaries in choosing the appropriate housing unit for them, inspecting it electronically and reserving it, ensuring a fast and smooth transaction.
The details about the portal were announced by CSGDB officials in a press conference yesterday. Director of Housing and Government Buildings Affairs Jassim Mohammed Talfat said at this stage, the portal will be available to a number of government agencies, with other agencies to be added later.
“At present, it includes all employees of government agencies who are subject to Human Resources Law No. 15 of 2016 and entities that use the “Mawarid” system,” said Talfat.
He said the bureau will gradually coordinate with the rest of the government agencies to update their employees’ data in the Eskan portal database to allow them to benefit from its services. “The portal will also be updated later and new services will be added to it, which is in line with the efforts of the Housing and Government Buildings Affairs Department to provide its services digitally and make the process easier for government sector employees and owners,” said Talfat.
The press conference was attended by Director of the Housing Planning Department Abdullah Issa Al Hammadi, Director of Privatization and Follow-up Department Nasser Nasser Al Nuaimi and Director of the Information Systems Department at CSGDB, Nouf Abdullah Al Marri.
Eskan confirms the commitment of the CSGDB to its pursuit of achieving the highest levels of organisational development and modernisation, and as part of its efforts to facilitate housing services for government sector employees and consolidate digital transformation in its services.
The portal falls at the heart of the mission and responsibility of the CSGDB to care for the human element, develop it, enhance its comfort, and invest in it, which ensures improved performance. Government employees will benefit from Eskan services as the government agencies currently addressing the Department of Housing Affairs and Government Buildings with requests for allocation or change via the government correspondence system (Tawasul).
The CSGDB will soon grant it the authority to access the portal to register its employees’ requests directly, as employees of government agencies registered on “Mawarid” system can use the portal directly.
The Eskan portal will also contribute greatly in achieving transparency as it allows all property-owners to display their residential units, and the selection from them is based on the needs of employees of government agencies. In addition to that, it saves time and effort.
Eskan will enable real estate owners to register new properties directly and without intermediaries.
