116 students graduate from Shafallah Center

DOHA: A new batch of 116 students of Shafallah Center for Children with Special Needs, part of Qatar Social Work Foundation (QFSW), graduated yesterday in the presence of Chairperson of QFSW, Munira bint Nasser Al Misnad.

Graduated students received specialised education and qualification in accordance with the highest international standards in order to develop their own abilities and develop their skills.

During the graduation ceremony, Amal bint Abdullatif Al Mannai, CEO of Qatar Foundation for Social Work (QFSW) and Acting Executive Director of Shafallah, said: “The centre is proud to graduate a new batch of students after their rehabilitation and the development of their abilities to meet the life challenges in work, family and society.”

“Shafallah is always seeking to provide high-quality services within the objectives of the development of the strategic programme in keeping with the latest developments and achieve the aspirations of the wise leadership in the human development, which includes all segments of society,” Amal added.

The training department adopts specialised training curriculum for the centre’s staff students that suit their abilities and potentials to help them to get involved in the labour market.

Al Mannai also said: “Shafallah has succeeded in employing 118 graduates in the past few years in a number of bodies in Qatar, including 23 students from the current batch. The number of students at Shafallah is 649 students, who are receiving education and training at the hands of specialists in the field of disability.”

Dr Muhammed Tolefat, Medical Officer at Shafallah, told The Peninsula: “It is always a proud moment to see a batch of students graduating from Shafallah. This year we have 116 students who are now educated and rehabilitated from the centre.”

The graduation ceremony held at Shafallah headquarters included several features that highlighted the role of Shafallah Center in education and rehabilitation and presented models of graduates who were engaged in the labour market and proved professional success in various locations.
