Doha: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced that a 355-metre part of Al Mansoura Street has been temporarily closed to complete upgrade of the sewage network in Al Najma.
The closure will stretch 50-metre before the intersection of the street with Al Kharaib Street up to 50-metre past the intersection of Al Mansoura Street with Al Bunduqiya Street.
The closure started yesterday and lasts until October 10.
The number of lanes along Al Mansoura Street remain the same in both directions, one open to traffic in each direction. Street parking will be closed on both sides of Al Mansoura Street during the period.
Also part of Al Kharaib Street will be closed at the intersection of the street with Al Mansoura Street. Road users can use alternative local roads in the area.
Ashghal will install signs to notify motorists and has urged all road users to abide by speed limits and traffic signs for their safety.
Meanwhile, Ashghal announced the closure of 434-metre of one direction of Al Hilal Street from its intersection with Al Bunduqiya Street to the roundabout in Najma Street, QNA reports.
The closure will be in two parts. The first from the intersection of Al Bunduqiya Street with Al Hilal Street until the intersection of Al Mareekh Street with Al Hilal Street from today to September 26. The second will be from the intersection of Al Mareekh Street with Al Hilal Street until the roundabout in Najma Street from today to October 26. Motorists can use Najma Street and Ibn Shuaib Street, or Al Khalidiya Street through Muaath Street in both directions as alternative routes. The closure aims to complete rehabilitation work on the underground sewerage network in Al Najma.
