The ‘Qatar Heritage and Modernity’ exhibition has opened at Katara Building No. 18. It features historical landmarks and heritage sites captured by Qatari photographers on lens.

DOHA: Historical landmarks and heritage sites in Qatar captured by Qatari photographers are featured at the “Qatar Heritage and Modernity” exhibition which opened on Sunday at Katara Building 18.
The photography exhibition organised by Youth Hobbies Centre (YHC) under the Ministry of Culture and Sports showcases 42 photos by six Qatari photographers including Ahmad Fahed Al Khulaifi, Abdullah Abdulhamid Al Musleh, Saleh Hamad Al Marri, Abdullah Nasser Al Tamimi, Hamad Eid Al Shammari and Abdullah Hussein Al Ansari.
The expo provides a panorama of images reflecting the rich Qatari history and heritage and the artistry and creativity of the photographers. It was inaugurated by Katara General Manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti and YHC Deputy Director Issa Al Hor.
Dr. Al Sulaiti said that the most important feature of this exhibition is that all artists are some of the best and creative Qatari youths who blended tradition and modernity in their artistic and creative pursuits.
“We are pleased with this exhibition, which highlights the Qatari Renaissance, evolution and beauty of the past and present, and reaffirm our support for these young people to motivate and encourage them to enrich the cultural and artistic scene in Qatar,” he added.
Since it was launched last year, the Youth Hobbies Center has been committed to the harnessing Qatari youth’s creativity through their works which reflect the social and economic renaissance experienced by the State through the lens of the young photographers, as a means to record Qatari heritage, history and identity.
