DOHA: The Health Monitoring Section at the Doha Municipality closed nine food outlets and recorded 68 violations during the inspection conducted last month. The department conducted a total of 2,084 inspections last month. The sole intention behind conducting inspection was to check whether food outlets  are working in line with the health specifications stipulated by the department or not.
In addition to this, the department also aimed to raise awareness on workers in these facilities about health standards to avoid food contamination.
Meanwhile, Health Monitoring Section at Al Shamal Municipality has renewed six commercial licenses. The Al Shamal abattoir has slaughered 1634 animals.  The department will continue its inspection campaigns on restaurants and men and women salons, in order to increase awareness about food safety and standards among workers
The Technical Monitoring Section of Al Shamal Municipality also conducted inspection campaigns on building sites and construction projects and caught two violations related to disposing waste at places not meant for the purpose.  Meanwhile, the Public Parks Department last month planted 10,000 Omani lemon trees, which are in high demand in Qatar.
