Hong Kong stocks open 1.68% higher

Hong Kong---Hong Kong shares surged 1.68 percent in the first few minutes of trade Tuesday, as investors returned after a public holiday that saw a rally in regional markets.
The Hang Seng Index added 469.49 points to 28,462.32.
