An official delegation of Chevron Phillips Chemical Company Qatar LLC (Chevron Phillips Chemical Qatar) recently presented to Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) a QR360,000 donation cheque as part of QRCS' annual 'Together for Benevolence' programme.
The programme aims to support expatriate workers and promote corporate social responsibility (CSR) in humanitarian activities. This year's initiative focuses on securing the basic needs of 4,500 expatriate workers during the winter, by distributing 3,500 food packages and 1,000 winter clothing bags at their worksites countrywide in Qatar. The food packages will consist of basic food staples like rice, sugar, oil, tea, and canned foods, while the clothing bags will contain blankets, gloves, scarves, socks, and caps.
The Chevron Phillips Chemical Qatar delegation comprised Mitchell Eichelberger, President; Darren Ercolani, Finance Manager; and Ricardo Costa Almeida, Human Resources Specialist. The guests were welcomed by Ali Hassan Al Hammadi, Secretary-General of QRCS; Saad Shaheen Al Kaabi, Director of Resources Mobilization; Issa Mohamed Al Ishaq, Director of Communication; and Hamid Moharrar, Head of Corporate Relations.
Al Hammadi commended the bilateral partnership as being in the best interest of Qatari society, particularly expatriate workers. The Secretary-General proclaimed that this donation is aligned with the country's national strategy of allocating considerable funds to improve the living standards of expatriate workers and ensure their welfare.
