DOHA: Qatar Petroleum’s Industrial Cities Directorate, comprising of Mesaieed and Ras Laffan industrial cities, has won ‘The Energy: Oil and Gas Award’ at the annual Seatrade Middle East and Indian Subcontinent Awards 2013, which was held in Dubai recently, said a press statement yesterday.
The Seatrade awards recognize achievements in maritime safety and the environment, ship and port operations and efficiency, as well as security and financing. It is one of the most prestigious prizes of the maritime world. This year’s awards ceremony took place on Monday (November 18).
The Award was received by Captain Feisal Saad, Manager of Port Operations at QP Industrial Cities, from Khalifa bin Ali Al Hitmi, President and CEO of Qatar Navigation (Milaha).
For seven years in a row now, Ras Laffan Industrial City has been a regular recipient of the Seatrade Awards, as it has been honored since 2007 with various awards, including the Port Authority Awards, Energy: Oil and Gas Awards and Environment Protection Awards.
Ras Laffan Industrial City and Mesaieed Industrial City are home to some of the most important gas processing and petrochemical ventures in the world, as well as a host of oil and gas upstream/downstream industries and support businesses. They provide a complete range of modern infrastructures, common facilities and services to their business partners, including oil and gas majors.
