Q.mobility signs JV deal with HUB

DOHA: Qatar’s ambitious projects, including Hamad International Airport (HIA) and the upcoming Lusail City will have award winning ultramodern lighting solutions and unique street furniture, said a statement yesterday. 
q.mobility, a subsidiary of Qatar Media Services (q.media), has signed a joint venture with HUB to established ‘Q-HUB’, which will offer the local market innovative and industry leading street equipment solutions such as street lighting, street furniture, way finding and shelters.
HUB already has a wide spectrum of clients across the world and currently they are supplying to the HIA with unique lighting systems and the Lusail Project with customised street furniture.
Q-HUB will combine the skills and capabilities of both q.mobility and HUB and provide Qatar with world leading street equipment solutions. Q-HUB’s vision is to invest long-term in Qatar, delivering value and international best practice, bringing the world’s best in terms of design, supply and service to the country.
Deputy Group CEO of q.media (Infrastructure), Ibrahim Al Malki said: “Qatar’s business growth is rapid. With this growth in business inevitably come the expansion of the population and consequently the expansion of infrastructure and street equipment. Aligned with Qatar’s 2030 vision, to modernize yet preserve our culture and traditions, we are extremely aware through our outdoor advertising operations at q.media, of the importance of maintaining and managing the esthetics of a country. Q.HUB will work towards beatifying our country’s street furniture whilst honouring the vision of 2030.”
Signing with Al Malki was HUB’s CEO Robert Matchett. Matchett added: “By combining the strengths of q.mobility and HUB, Q-HUB will be able to deliver for Qatar a local service offering internationally proven design, manufacture and the world’s best practices for the delivery of street lighting, street furniture, shelters and signage.”
He also said: “The future for Qatar is shining brighter than any place on earth and the team at Q-HUB looks forward to working with all clients in Qatar in order to deliver a unique and high quality solutions that will enhance the character of Qatar and the Organisations charged with delivering their public spaces and infrastructure.”
