The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met with H E Hassan bin Abdullah Al-Ghanim, Speaker of the Shura Council and their Excellencies members, on the occasion of the opening of the second ordinary session of the first legislative term, corresponding to the fifty-first annual session of the Council, at the Council headquarters in morning today.
At the beginning of the meeting, HH the Amir welcomed the Speaker of the Council and the members, praising the efforts made by the Council in its previous session through the parliamentary tasks performed by the members at the local and international levels and their participation in the follow-up of government performance and various development plans in the country.
For their part, H E the Speaker of the Shura Council and their Excellencies the members expressed their thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Amir for honoring the Council and opening the fifty-first annual session, appreciating the great support provided by His Highness to the Council. And confirming the state's positions on various affairs and issues, in addition to being a guide to the next stage and its strategic requirements.
The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani.
