Doha: Ooredoo announced yesterday that it has approved two CEO-level appointments for its international operations.
Ross Cormack, the former CEO of Nawras, has been named CEO of Ooredoo Myanmar, the newest operation of the Group, while Greg Young will assume the role of CEO for Nawras, from October 23, a statement on Qatar Exchange said.
“Today, we announce two new appointments that reinforce our commitment to offer all our customers world-class, next-generation networks and the very best customer experience,” Ooredoo Chairman Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Thani said.
“Ross Cormack has created a leading telecoms business in Oman, and will now bring the full weight of his passion and industry knowledge to our newest market, Myanmar. Greg Young is an extremely experienced industry figure who will further drive our success in the key market of Oman. We wish them both all the best in their new roles,” he added.
Ooredoo acquired one of the two first foreign-held mobile licences in Myanmar in July following negotiations with the country’s government. QNA
