Doha: Tunisia has launched celebrations over the selection of the central city of Sfax as a Capital of Arab Culture 2016, with participation of a Qatari delegation.
Faleh Al Ajlan Al Hajri, Director, Culture and Arts Department, the Ministry of Culture and Sports, said the presence of the Qatari delegation in the opening of the cultural event comes within the framework of the ministry’s keenness to consolidate cultural relations with all Arab countries.
He said the ministry will offer support for the success of the event stemming from its experience and expertise in hosting Doha Capital of Arab Culture celebrations.
Al Hajri said he discussed with Tunisian Minister of Culture Sunnia Mubarak, Qatar’s contributions throughout the year.
He said Qatari Ministry of Culture and Sports will take part in several events, including International Book Fair, visual arts and cultural days to introduce the Qatari culture and enrich cultural cooperation between both countries.
