Doha: Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani yesterday attended the Community College of Qatar (CCQ) graduation ceremony of the fifth batch of students of diplomas in Arts and Sciences and the first batch of Diploma in Public Administration.
The ceremony at Qatar National Convention Centre was attended a Sheikhs, ministers, academics, CCQ faculty and families of the graduates
Minister of State for Defence Affairs H E Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah told the attendees that the most important challenges of the current century are to provide intellectual capital through the preparation of national cadres capable of acquiring knowledge and provide development on an ongoing basis by adopting new science and technology.
He said Qatar under the wise leadership of Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has been working to consolidate this approach through implementation of Qatar National Vision 2030 so that Qataris will obtain desired status they deserve.
He referred to the massive national effort for Qataris, which has made Qatar occupy an advanced position with regard to spending on education and scientific research and the GDP percentage rates.

He said Qatar has made strides in building a culture and awareness of citizens and in protecting the homeland to emphasise that every citizen has a joint responsibility to serve the march of comprehensive development.
He said the graduation of the fifth batch of students is part of the college’s efforts that target Qataris as essential pillar of comprehensive development of the state.
He congratulated college officials on their efforts and the graduates on their success and perseverance to acquire knowledge and actively participate in comprehensive development witnessed by the state.
