DOHA: Under the patronage of Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the 11th international exhibition of homeland security (Milipol Qatar) will begin on October 31 at the Doha Exhibition Center and will last three days.
During a press Conference jointly organised yesterday by Abdullah Abdulghani & Bros. Co. W.L.L. (AAB) and Milipol Qatar Committee, the sponsorship agreement has been signed with AAB as the main official sponsor of the event.
The agreement was signed by Brig. Nasser bin Fahad Al Thani, Head, Milipol Qatar Committee, on behalf of the Ministry of Interior; and Osama Abdullah Abdulghani, Chairman, AAB, in the presence of Brig. Saoud Rashid Al Shafi, Member, Milipol Qatar Committee member; and Serdar Toktamis, CEO, AAB.
Brig. Nasser bin Fahad announced AAB as the main sponsor for Milipol Qatar 2016 and said it has provided QR500,000 as support. He said the exhibition is held every two years and displays the latest innovations of leading manufacturers in the field of homeland security.
It is considered one of the most important safety and security exhibitions with the participation of leading companies and manufactures in the field of state security.
“The exhibition is the result of collaboration and coordination between officials at the Ministry and France, and Qatar is proud of hosting such an important event”, he said.
To a question by The Peninsula about how many companies are participating in the exhibition, he said more than 50 percent of the exhibition space have been booked.
Abdulghani said: “AAB will have a booth over an area of 362 square metres where we will display our vehicles currently used by ministries.
“We are also providing a fleet of Toyota and Lexus vehicles for transportation of officials,” he added.
The 10th exhibition in 2014 occupied an area of about 6,055 square metres and 261 companies from 36 country participated.
