Ramallah: Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and a central area of the Gaza Strip have started voting in municipal elections.
Nearly 1.5 million people are registered to vote in the occupied West Bank, as well as 70,000 people in the Deir el-Balah area of Gaza, according to the Ramallah-based Central Elections Commission.
Polling stations opened at 7am (04:00 GMT)
Most people in Gaza are still struggling to meet their basic needs during ongoing Israeli attacks in its war that has killed at least 72,568 people and wounded more than 172,338 in the Strip.
These are the first Palestinian elections to be held since Israel launched its war in October 2023.
