DOHA: Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra (QPO) will perform the most popular video game soundtracks of all time in a bespoke multimedia concert ‘Video Games Live’.
The show on March 4 from 8pm at Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) will blend the emotion of live symphonic music with the distinctive sounds of video gaming.
Featuring synchronised lighting, electronic percussion and an exclusive visual showcase of the most popular video games from past to present, the concert will help introduce new audiences — families, video game enthusiasts and non-gamers — to the symphonic experience.
Eimear Noone, renowned Irish composer with involvement in World of Warcraft, Diablo, Metal Gear Solid, Starcraft 2 and Zelda, will conduct the concert. Tommy Tallarico, video game composer and creator of ‘Video Games Live’, will emcee the performance and musically contribute to the programme.
The musical performance will be the first of its kind in Qatar.
Ticket holders will also have access to pre- and post-show events. Tickets range from QR150 to QR500 and are available from qatarphilharmonicorchestra.org.
So far the event’s 300 plus performances have entertained over one million people in 30 countries.
