For the 12th consecutive year, Sri Lankan Majlis Qatar (SLMQ) organised annual competitions to mark the independence day of Sri Lanka with the patronage of the Sri Lankan Embassy.
The competitions were open to all Sri Lankan children living in Qatar and were held at the Embassy’s premises.
Competitions were held in the following activities in four age groups: Colouring, drawing, prepared speech, essay writing.
All winners were awarded with medals, certificates and gifts.
Sri Lankan Ambassador Jayantha Palipane was the chief guest. Sithara Khan, deputy chief of mission at the Embassy, and Lt. Al Ghanem from the Ministry of Interior were the guests of honour.
